Sing A Song of Shakespeare

New Musical Cabaret show featuring a combination of Shakespeare's most favourable characters, monologues, integrating traditional text with the equivalent musical adaptations. 

Featuring: West Side Story (Romeo and Juliet), The Lion King (Hamlet), Kiss Me Kate (The Taming of the Shrew), Return to the Forbidden Planet (The Tempest), All Shook Up (The Tempest) and The Boys from Syracuse (Comedy of Errors). 

​This cabaret gathers a whole range of musical genres to one evening and brings to life Shakespeare’s characters in a fresh and enlightening way.

CLAIRE HAMMETT - Science Officer / Sarab

Claire graduated from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in July 2007 with a First Class honours in Performing Arts Music. Past theatre credits include the UK tour of 'Ain't Misbehavin,' 'Head The Musical' and 'The Attic' (Theatre Royal Haymarket), 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk' (Imagine Theatre, Porthcawl Pavilion), 'Piramania' and 'Plague the Musical' (Edinburgh Fringe Festival). In 2012 Claire trained as a Speech and Language Therapist and continues to work as a vocalist for a number of bands and choirs, including lead vocals in the female swing band 'The Bombshelletes', various function bands including 'The 29 Fingers' and as part of South West based 'Vocal Works Gospel Choir.'

 

LAURA CORRADI  - Katherine / Nala

Laura trained at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts graduating in 2007 with a first class honours degree. Previous credits include 'Dry Rot' (Uk Tour), 'Danny The Champion of The World' (Brewery Arts Centre), 'A Handful of Songs' (Leicester Square Theatre, West End), 'Side By Side By Sondheim (Bristol Hippodrome), 'Photo Me' (Riverside Studios), 'Aesop's Fables Retold' (Windsor Globe), 'Ain't Misbehavin' (UK Tour & Cast Album), 'Home' (Theatro Technis Theatre) 'Fat Shirley's A Trailer Park Opera' (Pub Theatre Tour) and workshopping 'The Flint Street Nativity Play' with Tim Firth (Liverpool Playhouse). As a vocalist credits include supporting Will Young and the Cast of Cabaret at the 2013 Olivier Awards (Royal Opera House, ITV & BBC Radio 2), War Song Concert (Stratford Arts House), HRH The Prince of Wales Investing In Young Furture's Charity Gala Dinner (The Savoy Hotel), Cardiff Singer of the World Commercial (BBC 1 Wales), 'Moonriver' Recording (BBC Radio), Guest vocalist for 'Anything You Can Do' (Greenwich Playhouse) and LIPA's 10th Anniversary Gala (Liverpool's Royal Philharmonic Hall). Laura is also a regular performer as part of the Secret Cabaret Series at the Bristol Hippodrome piano lounge. 

LILY DYBLE - Maria / Young Nala

Lily has recently completed her Theatre and Performance degree at the University of Bristol. She has performed a variety of roles, including Maria (West Side Story - Music Theatre Bristol), Sarah (Guys and Dolls), Phyllis (Iolanthe), Casilda (The Gondoliers) and Side by Side by Sondheim (Pandemonium Productions). For two years she participated in the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, playing the roles of Patience (Patience) and Celia (Iolanthe) for the International Student Production. Her choral experience has included singing with the Halle Youth Choir, BBC Youth Proms Choir, and the University of Bristol Chamber Choir. Some exciting projects have included the BBC Proms and the closing night of the Lucerne Switzerland Festival under Sir Simon Rattle and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. As a keen director and choreographer Lily enjoyed directing one of her favourite musicals ‘Mack and Mabel’ last April. This interest in directing is complemented by a training in technical theatre where she has enjoyed internships in a large range of venues, her latest adventure being a placement on The National Theatre’s production of ‘Amadeus’. In September Lily will also be understudying the role of Truly Scrumptious, in Bristol Light Opera Company's upcoming production of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,' at the Bristol Hippodrome

SUMMER JONES - WEBSTER - Lois / Simba

Summer is a welsh working class actor from Port Talbot. Summer trained on the Foundation in Acting Course at RADA 2016 - 2017. Prior to this she trained in Musical Theatre at Bridgend College. She made her professional debut in 2016 as young Eli in Fear of Drowning at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff. Other credits and roles include Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk (Welsh Tour, Rainbow Valley Productions), Lady Anne/Murderer 1 in Richard III (RADA, Michelle Chadwick), Ensemble in Scuttlers (RADA, Hannah Eidinow), Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Bridgend College, Rachel Morgan-Belle), Anita in Rock of Ages (Bridgend College, Grace Warner), Vanessa in In The Heights (Revuesical) and Maria in The Sound of Music.
